Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company

The Junior division is comprised of young men and women ages 16 to 18 years of age. They learn about the fire trucks, equipment, ride on calls, attend meetings and drills. Eventually they are sent to the fire academy for training. The academy is for 186 hours but is spread over several months on nights and weekends and consists of both class room and hands on by using a controlled burn building. Once they have turned 18 years of age and passed the firefighter test they are now considered a senior firefighter. But on going training continues all the time. Currently, we have no Junior members. They have and run their own meetings. They DO NOT make any decisions at scenes but provide support at scenes.
